Hello!

My name is Olha Yurchenko, and I am a teacher!

I felt my calling back in childhood, when my friends and I used to play school. And, of course, I was always the “teacher”—with a serious face, notebooks in hand, and love for my “students,” even if they were teddy bears 😊. It was then I already knew: my future would be connected with children—with their laughter, open eyes, and boundless curiosity about the world.

While studying at the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University, I became convinced: true happiness is doing what you love and loving what you do.

My teaching career started back in 2013.

When I moved to Vienna, I was struck by how much our children here want to learn, develop, and at the same time preserve their Ukrainian identity.

This became the inspiration for creating the association Kultur- und Bildungszentrum “Open Door Academy“—a place where every child can learn in a way that is comfortable, engaging, and genuinely fun for them!

Our school is unique 🌟!

We are not limited to textbooks but use various methodologies, focusing on the needs and interests of each student.

These include the scientific and pedagogical project “Intellect of Ukraine,” NUS (New Ukrainian School), as well as the Ukrainian educational component:

  • 📘 Ukrainian Language and Literature

  • 📗 History of Ukraine

  • 📙 Geography

We believe that education is not just about knowledge, but also about developing thinking, memory, logic, imagination, attention, and creativity.

Our lessons are not just “45 minutes of sitting and writing,” but small adventures after which children ask: “Can we have more?” 😉

School is a second home.

And the main thing for us is for the child to be happy and wake up every morning saying: “Hooray, it’s school day today!” (Yes, yes, it’s really possible 😄).

Come and visit us -

and you will see that learning can be a real celebration!

We will fill the mind with knowledge, the soul with light, and the heart with love ❤️
